Change for Change
Our change4change bank drive is the way that we ask friends of our Clubs and our community to support Character Credit for our scholarship opportunities.
The money collected will be used to support scholarships for summer camps for youth who cannot afford the fees.
We hope that you will partner with us in helping our kids grow up as productive citizens who have the proper value systems in their minds and spirits.
Change banks will be placed on the counters of six Bestway Supermarkets located in the Greater Washington Area. Help support the kids in your community by donating your spare change!
What are character credits?
At the Fairfax Boys & Girls Clubs, we encourage our members to make good choices. We hold sessions that help our kids to understand the importance of values such as:
- Trustworthiness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Fairness
- Caring
- Citizenship
Along with teaching values, our staff of Youth Development Professionals model appropriate behavior and standards. We reward our young people that demonstrate good choices with Character Credits. Some of the good choices that we encourage are:
- Treat all People fairly
- Be Loyal-Stand by your family, friends, and country
- Think before you act-consider the consequences
- Be accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes
By demonstrating these acts, kids can earn their Character Credits. Our members' Character credits can buy not only their good reputation in their community, but they can also get scholarships for summer camps or get their loved ones gift items.

Mission Statement:

We strive to do all we can to help children of the world whose daily needs for food, housing and education are unmet.

The Foundation strives to help eliminate child hunger and for works well-being, education, and guidance for children throughout the world.
Bestway Supermarket
Founded in the 1970s as a grocery store in Washington, D.C., BESTWAY has grown into one of the largest independent Hispanic food retailers in the East Coast. With "Best of the Market" as our motto, they now serve millions of customers from all different ethnic backgrounds.
As a company that cares, Bestway has been a longtime supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, KAYA Foundation and numerous other non-profit group. They continue to seek new opportunities to promote community welfare.
